IN VENEZUELA

The concentrated aloe yellow sap (also called aloe latex) is produced in Venezuela from biological plantations that do not use fertilizers or pesticides. Our product is made with excellent quality raw material and processed in an evaporator with pressure and temperature control into a factory.

This process means we obtain a very high-quality product, compared to other low-quality aloe sap rocks (also called aloe gums or aloe resins) obtained by simply boiling the sap in the open air, without any processing technologies, as it is the typical procedure practiced in various aloe sap producing countries, such as South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Egypt, India and Pakistan.

The concentrated yellow sap (aloe latex) from the aloe vera leaf, with its high content of aloin A and aloin B, is a specialized raw material used in specific industries, primarily due to the potent properties of its active compounds.

Concentrated Aloe Yellow Sap (Latex): Uses and Industrial Applications

Aloe vera yellow sap, also known as aloe latex, is a bitter, yellow liquid found just beneath the outer green rind of the aloe leaf. It contains anthraquinones, particularly aloin, which has strong laxative effects. Due to its potent properties, concentrated aloe latex has specific uses in different industries.

Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Industry

This is the primary market for concentrated aloe latex. Aloin A and B are anthraquinone glycosides known for their strong laxative effects. They work by stimulating intestinal contractions and increasing water secretion in the colon, which helps to soften stools.

The concentrated sap is a raw material for Laxative Agents. The most well-known use is as an ingredient in stimulant laxative preparations. These products are often sold over-the-counter for the short-term treatment of occasional constipation.

Aloe yellow sap contains aloin, a compound that stimulates bowel movements. It was traditionally used in herbal laxatives, but its use is now restricted in many countries due to potential side effects (e.g., cramps, electrolyte imbalances).

Chemical and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

The concentrated aloe sap is a crucial starting material for the synthesis of other valuable compounds, a process known as chemical modification.

Diacerein Production: Aloin is the precursor for manufacturing diacerein, a slow-acting drug used to treat joint diseases like osteoarthritis. The process involves several chemical steps, including oxidation, to convert the aloin molecule into diacerein. This specific application highlights the value of concentrated aloe sap as a raw material for high-value pharmaceutical products.

Aloe-emodin and Rhein Production: The aloin iA and B, plus other compounds like aloe-emodin and rhein, are also used in various pharmaceutical applications.

Cosmetic and Skincare Industry

It has a limited use in certain cosmetic and personal care prepparations.

Exfoliation & Skin Renewal: Small amounts of aloe latex may be used in peeling treatments due to its mild exfoliating properties.

Hair Care: Some anti-dandruff treatments include aloe latex for its antifungal effects.

Agricultural & Pesticide Applications

Natural Pesticide: The bitter compounds in aloe latex can act as a deterrent for pests in organic farming.

Livestock Health: Sometimes used in veterinary medicine as a purgative for animals (under controlled conditions).

Bitter Alcoholic Beverages

Aloe latex or aloe gum has historically been used in bitter liqueurs (amaros from Italy for instance) and digestive bitters because they add a bitter flavor profile and a digestive aid.
